Congratulations to all our athletes! The Year 5 and 6 girls competed in an Athletics meeting at the Royal High against 10 other schools. Our B Team won their section, and Monkton won the combined A & B team trophy! Our first placed athletes were: A Team - Emma Barrett (Rounders ball); B Team - Soo Ji Kang (80m), Anna Stoelinga (Long Jump & Rounders Ball), Lydia Thacker (800m), & the 4x80m relay team. Monkton came third in the Invitational Athletics Meeting held at the school on 23rd May. Congratulations to the Year 5 Girls, who won their section of the event!

Our Year 7 and 8 athletes competed against 6 other schools from the Bath area in the Annual Bath Schools’ Athletics Festival at Bath University. The standard was as high as ever and Monkton winners included Kyran Tam winning a blistering Year 7 100 metres, Laura Gower winning the Year 6 Girls’ Shot, Edward Vickers winning the Year 8 Long Jump and Will Graves winning the Year 8 High Jump, with a new school record height of 1.57 metres. With our Year 7 boys winning their section outright, the overall winners were Monkton by the narrowest of margins. Congratulations to all the competitors for their efforts! |
