my vet (my doctor)

my doctor looks after me when i'm ill.  my mothers milk keeps me safe from any diseases, now i have a new owner i will need injections to protect me from cat flu and other nasty bugs . i will need injections at 8 or 9 weeks old and another one when i'm 12 weeks old.  i  need to go back to my doctor's every year to get booster jabs.

i  will need to go to the vets for checkups.  all cats can have worms they are mean to me because they live in my tummy, the vet will give me pills to make me better.  she/he will also check my fur for fleas.  if you don't want me to become a mummy or daddy then i can have a special operation.  the vet will do this for me when i'm about 6 months old.  also the vet can microchip me so if i'm lost or stolen the vet will know who i belong to, i like to be taken in a cat basket so other animals don't scare me and i won't run away.

1. appetite: am i eating well?

2. breathing:  i shouldn't be coughing or choking

3. body: i should be round and plump

4. claws: they shouldn't be long or split and i shouldn't have thorns or splinters in my feet

 5. coat: i like my hair to be clean and shiny

6. behaviour: i should be playful and lively

7. ears: they shouldn't be itchy or smelly

8.  eyes: they should be clear and bright

9. mouth and teeth: i shouldn't have bad breath
