1.Write down your ideas .Then pick which ones you like best.

2.Take out all the furniture and cover the carpet.

3.What kind of colours are you going to use? Remember your ideas and look at where the rooms focal point ,these can be windows , fireplaces etc.

4.Start painting now! Remember to check the label to see if you need more than one coat.

5.Be careful and remember to add masking tape to the top of the walls so you dont paint on the ceiling!I would leave the ceiling white other wise the room may seem dark and overcrowded. 

6.Once you have painted the room, you can think about the floor but only start on the floor once the paint on the walls is dry. 

7.Do you want carpet, wooden flooring, tiles or do you want to paint it? When you think about carpet remember, if you have children would it be suitable?

8.When you have chosen your flooring, start putting it down. It is best for experts to do it. 

9.Leave the room to air for about a day, then you can start adding the details and furniture. Think about stenciling, do the patterns match your choice of furniture? Also, are skirting boards a good idea? 

10.Once you have done steps 1-9, put in the furniture and add any finishing touches e.g.. pictures, flowers and then MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME!!
