Finally, cheesy sticks!

what you need:

125g (4oz) self-raising flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon dried mustard (optional)

50g (2oz) margarine or butter

75g (3oz) cheese, grated

1 egg, beaten

Method:

1. Set the oven to 180'C, 350'G, Gas 4

2. Sieve your flour and salt and mustard (the mustard is optional) into the mixing bowl. Rub in the margarine or butter until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs. I love this bit as you can get your hands involved!

3. Mix in the grated cheese and add enough of the beaten egg to mix into a stiff dough.

4. Sprinkle flour on the rolling pin and pastry board. Roll out the dough quite thinly but at least half a centimetre thick and cut into straws about half an inch by five inches. If you like you could try twisting them so they are spiral straws!. Lay out on to the greased baking tray.

5. Bake in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes until they are golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.

THEN EAT!
