Beginner
For the beginning you want to ask a friend weather they have a board you could buy a board off them. Or you could buy a simple board from a shop. At this stage you don't want to spend any more than £20 on anything. You will certainly NEED pads and you will DEFINITELY NEED A HELMET.
Advanced
Now you will need to consider having a proper set up board. You should spend about £100 on this board because it should last a long time until you advance further. You can decide weather or not you want to wear pads. Personally I don't because it restricts your movement. You Might want to consider getting clothes which will protect you.
