William and Apldeap first met in 1989 as eighth grade students, and began performing around the Los Angeles district. Then in 1995 Taboo joined them, they then named themselves the Black Eyed Peas. They were not too popular until Fergie joined them and their release of "Where is the Love?" became number 1. And then "Shut up" reached number 2.
